The British Embassy invites applications for the above full-time position.
The Projects Manager will work in the Embassy’s Low Carbon High Growth Team. He/She will lead on development and implementation of project work on sustainable development and climate change. This includes: identifying, developing, implementing and reporting on projects, liasing with UK and Brazilian government officials on the development and implementation of projects, and providing guidance to project implementers to ensure professional and timely project implementation.
Essential requirements: University degree in either International Relations, Economics, Environment or related-areas. 3 years relevant professional experience. Practical experience of managing projects in Brazil. A sound understanding of sustainable development and environment issues in Brazil. A good network of contacts and an understanding of policy work. Excellent communication skills are required in both spoken and written English and Portuguese, as well as strong IT skills (Microsoft Office) and a willingness to travel within Brazil and occasionally abroad.
Monthly Salary: R$ 5.578,00. Start Date: June 2009. The contract will be initially for one year.
